The Epic Archive vol. I (1975-1979), vol. 2 (1980-1983), vol. 3 (1984-1992)
Today I saw on iTunes three different collections of Cheap Trick, entitled The Epic Archive. Each of these collections have rare Cheap Trick tracks, like Up The Creek, Oh Boy (with vocals), Get Ready, etc., along with the bonus tracks on the remastered Cheap Trick releases, 49 tracks in all. It is also on Amazon and Spotify.
While it is available to download in mp3 and , does anyone know if these will be released on actual CDs? Personally I'd like to see the authentic cover artwork along with the jewel cases, to go with my other Cheap Trick CDs.

Thanks.

They were tough to find, and some songs are only available if you buy the whole album. Bought them all and blasting the tunes now.

I don't know why iTunes makes things difficult in finding the tracks. I mean, if you go by the release date on the songs section, "Gimme Back My Bullets" from the Lyrnyrd Skynyrd 2015 live CD isn't listed at all.

Why they didn't release it on CDs?

I'm really surprised more of a fuss isn't being made of these tracks. If I'm not mistaken some are getting their first general release while others are appearing in digital format for the first time.

These sound great. Anyone know if there's to be a CD release? I would love to have these 3 on disc rather than download.

Downloading all three as I write this.  I saw a few things that I've hoped would be issued (or in some cases re-issued) for a few years now.  Apparently these collections are digital download only.  Maybe they will see a CD release as part of a future box set, for now I'm happy with an iTunes release.

I hope they release them on CD because I  would buy them in a heartbeat (I hate downloads and will always buy a CD first if I have the option). I wouldn't get my hopes up though. CD's still continue to outsell downloads, accounting for over half the market, but many retailers have turned their back on the format. Most stores I visit rarely stock what I'm looking for and tell me they would have to special order anything I want. Here is a portion of an article on the state of the music industry in 2015 and if interested, a link to the full article.
http://www.vintagevinylnews.com/2016/01/the-state-of-music-2015-rock-still.html

In 2015, album sales (CD, cassette, vinyl, download) totaled 241.4 million units, down 6.1% from 2014's 257 million. When individual formats are broken out, CD's continue to hold over half of the market, in marked contrast to the naysayers at major retailers who have cut their CD sections to a fraction of their former size. 2015 sold a total of 125.6 million physical CDs sold as compared to 103.3 million digital albums and 11.9 million vinyl albums; however, the day when the CD's share will drop below the other formats is coming within the next year or two. CD sales 2014-to-2015 were down 10.8% while digital albums were only down 2.9%.

I'm wondering if we're seeing what would have been on the Epic planned reissues of the later CT albums...
