Smoke On The Water is THE classic track but I voted for Highway Star as my fav.
"Perfect Strangers". But some of the others will do nicely also.
I remember listening to Highway Star from Made In Japan over and over when I was a kid. That version kills...

I still like hearing some of the Mach 1 stuff....Hush, Kentucky Woman...
Highway Star (live version from Made In Japan)
"King Of Dreams" for me when Joe Lynn Turner was in Purple......
Driving home from the grocery store yesterday my son and I heard "Hush" on the radio and he made a comment about how many good songs Deep Purple has. They really do, don't they? Much more than just one or two that everyone knows.

For me I have to go with "Highway Star" too just because it's such a great driving song. Makes you just want to put the windows down, crank the radio and drive FAST!

But I really also like the piano part in the bridge on "Woman from Tokyo" too. Smile
"Smoke On The Water" is most synonymous with Deep Purple. Wink
i only got into the 90's to present stuff for deep purple . perfect strangers , rosa's cantina , the lynn turner disc was real good . never liked the early stuff too much .
This Time Around/Ode to G

"Thick man of Europe"

BTW "Kentucky Woman" was written by Neil Diamond.
Can I vote for the whole Machine Head album? What did Lord do to his Hammond to get that gritty sound? I've seen a lot of videos of people trying to play his parts, but they all sound weak.
