From this short list, which of these wonderful collections of live recordings would you like to announce as being your most beloved? Make your choice for your favorite live album and let's compare, quibble and discuss our opinions and those of others.
Alive! With Double Live Gonzo a close 2nd (1st time I ever heard the "F" word on a record) Big Grin

"...anyone who wants to get mellow, you can turn around and get the -edit- outta here!" I love that record!
"... you got me in a goddamn strangle hold baby!"
His banter alone is almost half of the experience of Double Live Gonzo.
They're all good choices but I went with Wings Over America... Big Grin
Budokan
At Budokan is the only live album I love, Cheap Trick or otherwise.

Ian
I voted for Budokan, my second favorite. The best ever is The Who's Live At leeds.
I also like the inclusion of REO- That is a great live album, recorded before they hit it big commercially.
the kinks , one for the road is a great live album !!
Well I must say that I did expect a little less bias from this group. Of course I know that this is a Cheap Trick fan forum but Budokan getting these kinds of votes is puzzling. I hesitate to even remotely influence future opinions, but I cannot believe the Cheap Trick Budokan Hall recordings make this kind of impact. :Oo:
I had thought about including "Live At Leeds" or "Live Evil" but now I am sure that they would have really gotten trounced by the Budo album.

Yes it is! Good to see another Kinks fan!
how about AC/DC If You Want Blood Youve Got It? Great live album, unfortunately its not very popular.

You're right! Another great one. Whole Lotta Rosie rocks!
And one of the best album covers ever.

Thats a great album cover. I can't think of anything thats better than it (excluding all Iron Maiden covers).
Every Molly Hatchet album cover done by Frank Frazetta or Boris Vallejo. Barbarian tiger queens and their damn cleavage.

Uhmmm. Let's get back to the live album post or whatever it is about.
Here in my humble opinion are the greatest live albums ever:

Cheap Trick - (At Budokan)
Thin Lizzy - (Live and Dangerous)
The Who - (Live At Leeds)
Kiss - (Alive)
Peter Frampton - (Frampton Comes Alive)
Roxy Music - (Viva!)
Rush - (All the World's a Stage)
Pat Travers Band - (Go For What You Know)
The Rolling Stones - (Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out)
Cheap Trick - (Music for Hangovers)
AC/DC - (If You Want Blood...)

Thin Lizzy's is a definite lost classic and a lot of critics have put it on the greatest live records of all time. It's powerful. Roxy is a personal choice of mine and it's a gritty live recording from the greatest art-progressive rock act of all time. And yeah, I may be biased, but I LOVE "Music for Hangovers." What a deal at $5.00!
