WGAS?

One of the reasons they canned Bun was due to him wanting them to do more Beatles cover shows
As they said on Stern "He would be happy to have us as a Beatles cover band"
Then while promoting a new CD in front of thousands they play ONE new song & FOUR Beatles covers
Interesting.
PLEASE play this set in Albuquerque!!!

Strange some would take offense at the Beatles songs in this set list, it's not like they do this sort of thing every concert.

I welcome it!

Exactly. Even more so considering they have a whole lot from their own catalogue to choose from- Like a Fly, No Direction Home, Say Goodbye, This Time You Got It... etc.
I guess on the bright side they didn't do That 70s Song.. lol.

I agree as well.  What a disappointment after the two set lists from North Carolina.  I think this is the main reason I won't see them on this tour.  Having to play a shorter set opening for (basically) a cover band is bad enough.  Risking having to hear them play this many Beatles songs instead of their own stuff is actually worse.

I guess there are some out there that like the band's "Sergeant Pepper" schtick.  To me it's almost as awful as The Doctor.

Clem

PS - Still praying they put out a hefty new live CD instead of a "Christmas" album  Undecided

Only the fan when it gets hit...
while I am curious about how they have been choosing the setlists lately, and hoping that they will do more from the new album, if I was there, it would have blown my mind to see that set. the setlist has been oddly varied as of late, and I thought this tour would see a traditional approach in choosing songs. if they are enjoying themselves i'm all for it--they're great---let's be happy for them and us that we still have them out there and they have new music and things are interesting.
People are mad when they play the same set. People are mad when they diversify the set.

They currently have three new tunes rotating in their set lists. For a veteran band with their hit making years behind them, that is about right.

Go see the Stones or McCartney and see how many current tunes are in their set list.

I am pretty happy with whatever Cheap Trick plays, they always have some surprises every time I see them.

I concur.    Tongue
Did the Cheap Trick think the fans didn't want to hear any its songs, let alone much from the last 20 years?
