At Saturday night's meet and greet both Daxx and Robin mentioned they were going to Nashville the following day to "finish the album." Daxx also mentioned the new album is "heavy."

YES!

June could still happen...though it's already March and hopefully the kick-off of the marketing campaign is around the corner.  June really isn't far away...

Ain't it a GREAT time to be a Cheap Trick fan??

Robin sounded AMAZING Saturday night - I thought he sounded better than the last show I saw, June 2016 in Plymouth, MN. Timeless, ageless!
Ill take heavy
The album can be 'heavy' and still be lousy. I'd rather have a good album above anything else.
Don't be a poophead.

I agree. Bang Zoom was pretty heavy compared with The Latest.

I know, right? Don't want the band to sound like themselves. Must need them sound like Foo Fighters or Metallica or something.

And making the guitars and drums loud helps cover up for mediocre songwriting. Winning!
You're being poopheads. They could have said it's going to be poppy, heavy, pissy, etc., and the album could end up being crappy or brilliant. You kinda have to wait for it. They've done heavy pretty darn good that didn't sound like metallica or the foo fighters.

I would like Tom to consider doing a Motorhead cover album, though, including vocals. I would love that.
They've also been 'heavy' and LOUSY (aka WOKE UP WITH A MONSTER, SORRY BOY, BEST FRIEND, etc). I'd rather have them make a good album over some nonsense that the album *HAS* to be heavy.
I've known people terminally ill that are more upbeat than curiouser.  Confused
YOU GOT IT GOIN' ON (Nielsen, Nielsen, Petersson, Raymond, & Zander).

Best Friend is magnificent.    Tongue
About as magnificent as what I flushed down the toilet this morning.
For me the heavier Cheap Trick songs are the highlights but that is the music I like. The fact that they jump from ballad to power pop to hard rock is their appeal and possibly their downfall.
