My local radio station said this morning that Thin Lizzy, Cheap Trick and the Screaming Jets are playing Newcastle Entertainment Centre Dec 4 2017.
I cannot find a single reference to this anywhere online so I rang the station and the DJ confirmed it and said tickets go on sale in Oct.
Anyone heard anything like this ?
Hope to goodness it comes true.

Opening for Thin Lizzy??  Anyone original still even in that band??
They are now known as Black Star Riders. Scott Goram only original.

They play as both for some bizzarre reason Roy,Thin Lizzy headlined the Ramblin' Man Fair in England last July with Aerosmiths Tom Hamilton on bass.

It's pretty fuçking weird if you ask me.
Prob will get canned just like back in 06

Wont happen (and Im a very optimistic guy)
Sure hope that comes true. Will be interesting to see what happens!!

I figured I wouldn't get to see them this year, so this would be an amazing suprise if true!!

I have checked all sites for the 3 bands and NOTHING (yet)
Cheap Trick is a MUCH bigger band than Black Star Riders! Can't believe they would support somebody like that.

Totally agree, I done get it either. That's why I'll only go to a solo show.

Well let me rephrase, I prefer solo shows but I probably shouldn't rule out co-shows close to home. Cool

Is the correct answer.   Big Grin
If the bands fee is met, they will take 90% of offers.
They should have never been 1/3 & playing to 50% empty stadiums after all the HoF hype & the new CD doing well, but they did.
I don't get a lot of the decisions, but the band loves playing & never seemed to care about "status"

I love that they do this - the one band in rock n roll good enough to have bucketloads of ego, yet they don't have any at all. It's very cool!!

And I guess, take with a grain of salt coming from a radio DJ, but it's a very specific rumour and it's not really the kind of rumour that is gonna get him heaps of attention for spreading it, which suggests there could potentially be some truth to it.

Will be interesting!
